Egos And Corridors
I have no doubt that, at some stage of our lives, each one of us has had to deal with a certain person or group of people, commonly known as bullies.
Malicious ones
You stand in groups tightly packed
Tones lowered
Stances tossing messages to those passing by
Pompous and arrogant
Attitudes of supremacy
Joining forces
For fear of standing alone
Snipers you are
Seeking and attacking
Determined to destroy
Malicious backstabbing
A necessary evil or a simple obnoxious delight
Tools with which to feed your egos
Hollow souls lacking in depth
Devoid of empathy
Self-indulgence at any cost
Ambitious wonders you may think you are
Ascending ladders of success
On weaker bodies you tread
Oh pitiful ones
Educated souls you may think
In your wake you leave sadness and disbelief
Channel your fierce insecurities
Not to pollute others
But at yourselves
Look deep within
Take heed of the damage inflicted upon Self
And realise that you are in fact the morally lesser ones
Prepare yourselves
For that which is the law of cause and effect
Cannot ever be avoided
It will grip you
Robbing you of that inner peace
Bringing with it harsh lessons to be learnt
Face the demons of your past
Break their hold
No need to hide your insecurities and pain
Channel that energy
For you hold the power
Create space for the good and the beautiful
Truly experience kindness and empathy
Give to those in the corridors
For your own inner healing to begin

beautifully expressed. and sometimes not just in the corridors but in the staffrooms too!
