That Which Only The Rain Can Bring
Whether you appear as the monsoon
Heavy and bold
Unrelenting and forceful
Or the gentle softness that creeps in unnoticed
Heavenly and comforting
Offering nourishment and serenity
Whether you appear as the greatest lightning storm
Your electric power seemingly destructive
Clearing the earth of negative energies
Or the heavy mists embracing all before them
Bearing healing, beauty and stillness
Providing opportunities for new beginnings
In whichever form you may present yourself
No other force is able to match
The gifts in which you swathe our earth
For within your embrace offerings are showered upon us
Puddles created bring joy to any child
Relief is offered to those with thirst
Within your soothing touch
My skin is caressed by your gentleness
Providing moments of sheer delight and gratitude
For without you there is no hope
All that is nature will wither and disappear
Your immense power the life force of all
I find healing in each one of your droplets
Protection in the rumbling of your deafening thunder
Exhilaration in the brilliance of your lights
I fear you not
For you are my protection, my comfort
Surrounded by your presence
All else fades into the distance
Thanks to Tarryn for the exquisite photo of the electrical storm in the desert near Aggenys - Northern Cape, South Africa.
Wow, wow, wow! So gentle in its impetus and turbulence.
